B.V. Doshi Gold Medal Award

 

B.V.Doshi award was given to Harsh Shrivastav  by renowned Architect Minakshi Jain, in the presence of President Er.R.K.Sing , Principal Dr. Prajakta Baste  with his parents and the Members of A & E. B.V.Doshi Gold Medal Award is an award given for  Academic excellence. The award has been presented  to students who stand first in Architectural Thesis, since  1996. The award has been initiated together with the  Architecture & Engineer Association (A&E), Nashik.  The name of the award was decided with consent  from Pritzker prize winner Ar. B.V. Doshi. The medal  presented has a special importance as it is designed  by the noble architect, Ar. B.V.Doshi himself. The college invites imminent architects who interact  with students discussing their academics and also  provide them with career guidance.


‘Mistura’ an Art Fest

Organizing an art fest ‘ Mistura’ is an excellent effort made by N.G.O. ‘Shaurya’, that focuses on showcasing Nashik’s culture and heritage through various talents such as dance, music, painting, drama and many more art forms. Every year arrangements are made on Godavari River front wherein various artists can portray their talent to people in an open environment without any boundaries. MVPS’s college of architecture is proud to be associated with Shaurya’s Mistura event every year to make it a success. Many students from the institute work as volunteers for the N.G.O. The students engage in making of sculptures, free standing installations, paintings, origami models etc.  Students also actively participate in various other talent activities and competitions during the event. Shaurya is an N.G.O. that works for under privileged sector of the society by providing learning platform as well as financial aids for various activities.


Foundation day celebration

Turning back the 27 pages of the year book in history dated 2nd Sept 1979 was the day when first batch entered the college. To cherish this moment, every year since then this day is celebrated as the college day. On this occasion, a structure is erected by the students of 2nd year B.Arch and B des. Dedicating their passion towards their respective fields and our college. Students willingly work aiming at the structure to be sustainable and useful. The structure is named as ‘the structure of the year’. This year the students created a semi-covered pathway using bamboo and rope that symbolised the journey of the students from previous batches till now that brought name, fame and glory to the institute. Our principal, Dr. Prajakta Baste madam, along with all the faculty members inaugurated the structure. A lot of enthusiasm was seen in the students through the day through various activities like sports, debate competitions etc. The eve was celebrated with fresher’s party to welcome first-year batches of architecture and B.des students who actively participated in cultural performances.


Gurupournima celebration

On 19 July, Gurupournima was celebrated. Teachers or Guru play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Students performed exclusively for teachers were a memorable one. Students from B Arch & B Des were present and exhibited their talents as a treat to the teachers. Followed by the speech given by various students and teachers.


Independence Day celebration

This year in 2016, students and teachers in MVPS’s College of Architecture, Nashik celebrated India’s 70th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and passion. Students of 1st to final year from both the fraternities decorated the campus with posters, paintings, monuments etc. reflecting the joy of freedom. The honourable Principal, Dr. Prajakta Baste madam hoisted the Indian       flag at 7.30 a.m. in the campus in presence of all the students and faculties. National Anthem song was sung to salute and honour the Indian flag at the solemn occasion. The ceremony was followed by the cultural performances by students and a word by the principal and Ar. Suvarna Patil madam. The participants performed patriotic skits, songs, dances to pay tribute to all the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the independence of India. Some of the students shared their views on the significance of the day. Finally, a very heart touching question rose by the students, “Are we really patriotic and in what way?” made everyone rethink of their duties towards the nation in everyday life. The atmosphere in the institution was electric and everyone truly felt a wave of patriotism, coupled with hope and optimism for the future.


Teachers day Celebration

On 5th September, the birthday of Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was celebrated. His footsteps, the teachers follow, are being proved on Teacher’s Day. Yoga day Celebration

21st June 2016

The world Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. The opportunity was taken by MVPS’s College of Architecture, Nashik to imbibe the value of discipline in its students. Volunteers from YOGVIDYADHAM, Nashik were invited to conduct a yoga session in the college between 9 am and 10:30 am. Students got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body and importance of yoga as a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. The students of B. Arch and B. Des. with the teachers Prof. Sanjeev Patil, Prof. Ketaki Manolkar, Prof. Suvarna Patil, performed Yoga. Different yoga postures like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, Shashankaasana, Bhujangasana, Pawana Muktaasana, finally ended with Pranayama and meditation. Prayers were recited before and after the programme.


Celebration Of Gokulashthami – Dahi Handi

This year, on 25th August, the playful event of Dahihandi took place with a lot of excitement. The event was organized by students’ Council. The students’ council organized a safe and secure Dahi handi play in the courtyard All the classes participated as teams of 12-18 students. The participants and onlookers enjoyed the game. The event was monitored by senior faculty members and non-teaching team for safety purpose.


Cans’ Got Talent  Dance And Singing Competition

This year, the much anticipated annual event of socials started with ‘Cans’ got Talent’ show.  Student’s council members and social secretary organized the event. Scrutinized participants from both disciplines across all years performed various talents such as dance, singing – both solo and group. Students enjoyed the event and everyone participated with enthusiasm. The competition was judged by Suruchi Randive and Smita Kasar Patil. All the faculty members attended the event. Winners, runner up and special mentions were awarded. The event was followed by dance party.


Welcome Of New Batch – Freshers Party

This year, the fresher’s party celebrations started with welcome note by the student’s council representative. The second-year students conducted the program with a lot of enthusiasm. The first-year students were invited on stage to introduce themselves in an innovative way. They were also encouraged to showcase their talents. This way the students are remembered vividly throughout their college life. All the faculty members attended the event. Ms. Fresher and Mr. Fresher titles were awarded by the hands of Principal Baste Ma’am. The event was followed by a dance party and welcome dinner.


Celebration Of Ganapati Festival

5th Sep 2016

Like every year, after the Ganpati idol making worshop with Shaadu clay, Ganesh sthapana was done on 5th September. Interesting and varied manifestations of Ganesha idol were explored by students and all these are worshipped during the 10 day Ganesha festival. Each day a common aarti took place at 10.00 am in the morning followed by Prasada. Every day one class took responsibility and arranged Prasad for the entire college. It is nice cultural atmosphere created in college for 10 days. The visarjan ceremony took place on the 10th day as per rituals in college campus. Student council takes initiative in arranging and coordinating the whole event.


Celebration Of Samaj Din

This year, on the 19th August, Samaj din was celebrated remembering the founders of the MVP samaj. The images of visionary leaders were arranged and decorated in the atrium with garlands and rangoli. Principal Ma’am and all faculty paid tribute to the images. Principal ma’am addressed the programme with a remembrance speech describing the formative years of the sanstha and the struggle these great people went through. She also emphasized on the vision of the samaj for the future.


Farewell To Final Year – Thee Awards

This year, the ‘THEE awards’ celebration started with a grand welcome procession of the final year Batch. The entire college gathered to warmly welcome the exit batch in the campus one last time.  The second-year students conducted with program with great enthusiasm. The students graduating batch were given various awards. This recognized their qualities and contribution while on campus. The award ceremony was followed by a speech by a few of the faculty members remembering the journey of graduating batch. Few students also shared their experience and expressed gratitude towards institute and faculty members. All the faculty members attended the event. Ms. Cans and Mr. Cans titles were awarded. The event was followed by a dance party and farewell dinner.
