M.V.P.S’s S P College of Architecture organized Site visit at “The Ramchandra Mission Cultural centre auditorium and 250 bedded hospital project.” Which was conducted for fourth year B. Arch as a part of Design-VII Project site visit and live project study. This visit was conducted for Fourth year. B.Arch students and faculties explained them about various functions, spaces and work flow in the Auditorium. They also explained about provision and integration of advanced services and high end finishes. Students visited Auditorium, Stage and Backstage, Chiller and AC Plant and placement of all advanced services. NMC Officers explained about performance and detailing of services.
Visit to Namco Hospital, Nashik

Auditorium site visit was scheduled to facilitate the students to visit the Special building and to observe, understand the functioning, interact with the staff and performing artists. This visit conducted for Fourth yr. B.Arch students and faculties explained them about various functions, spaces and workflow in the Auditorium. Waste water generation and its treatment is a crucial part for the Nashik municipal corporation. This plant is designed with new and modern equipment and machinery. The STP plant is designed for 18MLD +11.5 MLD . This site visit aims to understand the process of managing. Waste water which is generated in the Gangapur ward . The following processes were studied by the students like , preliminary , Primary , secondary treatment and tertiary treatment and the end product and the sludge treatment .

Dr Abhijit Dandekar, a resource person from Pune , Deccan institute had arranged an archaeological site at Nashik , Pandav leni .sir , explained each and every details of Caves Architecture . He talked about languages, script ,communications of the people, write up on the cave stones and its meaning . Places and the activity , form in architecture , materials , Architectural elements like , arches, windows , jallis , doors , surface finishes . Preservation of the caves were seen .
Measured Drawing of Regional Vernacular Structures

As part of the subject History, Architecture and Culture – II, first-year B.Arch students visited the old core of Nashik city to study traditional Wada architecture. The study focused on prominent examples such as Sarkar Wada, Bhalerao Wada, Pethe Wada, and Bhikusa Wada. This hands-on exercise aimed to enhance students’ understanding of vernacular architectural practices, spatial organization, and cultural significance. During the visit, students engaged in on-site sketching of architectural details, photo documentation, and preparation of measured drawings, allowing them to explore construction techniques, materiality, and the socio-cultural aspects embodied in the traditional Wada typology.
Site Visit (Load Bearing Construction)

Under this course, First year students study Load bearing construction system, with stone or mud walls and Timber used for Floor, roof and staircase. Students were taken for a study visit to an old house at Belgaon Dhaga, Trimbakeshwar. The house is constructed in 1962 and owned by Mr. Dattatray Dhage. Students observed various details of load bearing construction such as thick mud walls with cupboards within, Joinery details of TW members such as TW Floor, TW Roof and TW Staircase. Students documented their observations through photography and sketching.
Varuna River Walk

Under the Subject Ecology, 4th Year B. Arch students study various ecosystems, the components of ecosystems and their interrelations. River ecosystem was one of the areas of study. Mr. Sunil Pardeshi Sir is Nadi Pravahi of Varuna river, appointed by government of Maharashtra, to study the current status of the river ecology and to work for a healthy condition of the same. The students had a river walk with Sunil Pardeshi Sir. During this walk they observed following
- The healthy status of river Varuna at its origin
- Various encroachment on the river bank.
- Disposal of Solid waste, discharge of Drainage into the river water
During the discussions with Sunil Sir, the students tried to find out measures to prevent river pollution.

They were given a pre-decided parameter to observe and experience the temple complex and record their observations. A ready case booklet was filled with on-site data and observations to prepare a case study analysis of the Jetavan Spiritual centre. Various aspects of architectural design such as site context, site development, entry, site movement, building form and massing, basic design principles decoded in plans and sections, experiential quality of various spaces, construction materials used and sensory perceptions were recorded as a part of the visit. Students discussed various aspects of the parameters given for case study on site and each aspect was elaborated through experience and perceptions of site visit in detail. Rough sketches were drawn on site. The data collected was then further documented in the booklet format to complete the case study.

Site Visit to Khokari Tombs, Agardanda (Murud)

As part of the curriculum under the subject History of Architecture and Culture II, a site visit to the Khokari Gumbad Complex near Murud was conducted for First Year B.Arch students. The visit aimed to introduce students to the principles of early Indo-Islamic architecture through direct observation and analysis of a significant heritage site. The Khokari Gumbad complex comprises three prominent domed tombs, believed to be the oldest in the region of Maharashtra. Students were guided through the historical background of the site, its architectural typology, and cultural significance. Faculty members explained the layout, material usage, construction techniques, and stylistic elements like domes, arches, and ornamentation.

Spanning over 2,000 hectares, it serves as a critical habitat for various migratory bird species, especially those using the Central Asian Flyway. Water Conservation Techniques Workshop At Metghar, Brahmagiri, Trimbakeshwar

Under the Subject Environmental Science, 2nd Year B. Arch students participated in an activity conducted by Forest Department of Nashik, focused on construction of stone bunds along the slopes of Metghar fort, Trimbakeshwar, Nashik. Renowned water conservationist Rajendra Singh, widely known as the Waterman of India, addressed the students and emphasized the importance of water conservation. He shared practical, accessible methods for water management, with a practical focus on Stone bunding techniques. Under his guidance, students actively engaged in building several stone bunds at the site. Principal Dr. Prajakta Baste was also present during this activity, offering her support and guidance to the students throughout the session.

Site visit to Swimming Pool

Every year site visits with experts are identified to value add the course curriculum under various subjects. Efforts are taken to call the experts from the field to conduct the site visits on completed and ongoing work. Activities based on the lecture learnings such as assignments, analytical studies, field visits, surveys etc. those are needed to achieve the lecture outcomes, are undertaken during the lectures allotted for institute philosophy for the respective year which are over and above the stipulated time for the respective subject conduct. Thus following the institute philosophy – “Learning by doing” and “co- existence with nature”. Site visit for the swimming pool was organized on the same lines. The students visited the functioning swimming pool at Rajmata Jijau Swimming Pool at Nashik Road. Mrs. Maya Jagtap was present at the time of site visit and explained the function of the swimming pools. Students had observed the function of the swimming pool, filtration plant and other different allied services at the swimming pool. She also explained the cleaning process of the swimming pool and integration of different services like plumbing, electrical etc. She responded to the queries of students and guided them on this topic. Students have also visited a swimming pool at a resort in Igatpuri to understand the design and function of Infinity Pool.
