SITE VISIT TO FOUNDATION CONSTRUCTION
A site visit to ongoing construction site is organised to make students understand the various concerns related to execution of Foundation construction. Different stages of construction of Foundation execution like ground excavation, casting footing, raft slab, reinforcement, formwork etc.
The step by step execution process explained in lecture could be seen on site. Students raised many question to site workers about execution to clarify their doubts.
Challenges in underground constructions were also discussed by the site engineer.
SITE VISIT TO CITY CENTRE MALL
Third year B. Arch students were to visit City Centre Mall in Nashik to observe and understand various Air conditioning components as a part of subject Building Services.
The maintenance persons explained students regarding working of a chilled water plant and related information such as capacity, output, efficiency etc. Students also observed the air distribution system along with the components like ducts, insulation, grills, diffusers etc. Space requirements for related services like plant room, Air handling unit, cooling tower etc. was also understood.
Industrial Visit – Sandeep Plastics Industries
12th Jan 2018
The Students of Product design and furniture design 2nd year were taken for an industrial visit at Sandeep Plastics Industries, which is suppliers of Automotive Parts & Components, Castor Wheels. They manufacture front Show Bumper, Front Grill etc. by using the method. It helped students to understand how the selection of forming mould is done, according to the appearance requirements of fibreglass parts. The manufacturing of the fibreglass body is produced with reference to master mould according to drawings or prototypes. And how they make fibreglass car moulds according to the production of the master mould. At last, the students observed the finishing process of the components. This also helped to understand the characteristics and limitations of FRP. Overall this visit helped in enhancing the knowledge apart from the theoretical learning.
